About Brian

Brian SutcliffeMy name is Brian Sutcliffe and I have been offering driving lessons in Watford and Harrow as an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) since qualifying in 2005, having passed Part 1, 2 & 3 qualifying exams at the first attempt.

I have always found that I learn and understand new tasks better in a relaxed and friendly environment; this helps me enjoy the learning process. I feel my pupils should also enjoy the process of learning to drive. If you learn to drive in this manner I feel it helps to reduce the overall stress and fear you may be feeling as you sit behind the steering wheel for the first time.

I believe in on-going training and have signed up to the Driving Standards Authority (DSA) commitment to Continued Professional Development (CPD). In brief this means that I am constantly trying to improve the standard and quality of the driving lessons I deliver to pupils who sign up with me. I use a variety of lesson material to offer alternative methods of learning to suit individual pupils’ needs and requirements. Not everybody learns the same way and as driving instructors we need to adjust our coaching styles to suit pupils’ needs – after all, “one size does not fit all”.

In the initial stages of learning I follow up the lesson by providing lesson recaps for my pupils to review and test their understanding before attending their next lesson. To aid learning,at no cost to my pupils, I also enrol them onto Theory Test Pro – a web learning site where you can learn and practice multiple choice questions and case studies on the Theory, and view and practice the Hazard Perception video clips prior to booking your official Theory Test examination. Your theory test learning is also reinforced during the in car training.

In addition to standard learner lessons I offer refresher driving lessons for drivers who have had a gap in their driving or who may have failed a previous driving test, intensive courses, motorway lessons, Pass Plus training and lessons for nervous drivers.

If you are looking for a driving instructor with experience who is dedicated calm and usually unflappable why not come and try me out, I would love to hear from you.
